VBOX Circuit Tools Cheat Sheet
A quick-reference for Racelogic VBOX Circuit Tools — the driver-friendly analysis software for VBOX GPS loggers. Delta-T, splits, video sync, and the numbers that tell you where the lap time went.
Delta-T — The Key Channel
Delta-T is the running lap-time difference between two laps and the single most useful parameter for comparison. A rising line means time is being lost versus the datum; the steepest rises are the biggest coaching opportunities.
Splits & Sectors
Circuit Tools auto-detects the track and can place sector splits at braking points, at every speed change, or evenly around the lap. The Ideal lap (sum of the fastest sectors) versus Best Actual reveals the consistency gap.
The G-G Plot
Longitudinal G against lateral G forms the traction circle. A full circle means grip is being used in transitions; gaps mean braking and turning are sequential rather than overlapped.
Video Sync
Circuit Tools' biggest advantage is native synchronised video — moving the cursor jumps the video, and frame-by-frame stepping reveals line differences at corner entry, apex, and exit that are invisible at full speed.
Troubleshooting
If the cursor will not move, the GPS data may be missing — switch the axis to Time. If no laps show, the start/finish line needs setting. Position-based alignment is accurate to within 0.02s and beats distance-based comparison at most circuits.
